Principal's Message
Welcome to Cal Ave! I am the proud Principal of an amazing group of students and educators. Having worked at California Avenue School for the past 25 years, I am confident that there is no better place for our district's youngest learners to begin their educational journey.
California Avenue School is the district’s comprehensive preschool. Each classroom consists of general education students and children with unique & special needs. Four elementary classrooms support our students with significant medical needs and those requiring extra behavioral support.
Our highly-trained Education Specialists differentiate instruction for a wide range of learners. Instructional assistants in each classroom support students and their daily needs. We have a mindset of Servant Leadership and arrive each day with a passion to serve and teach children.
California Avenue School offers an array of instructional services including speech-language pathology, adapted physical education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, vision services, deaf & hard of hearing services, and nursing. Students access the STEAM (science) classroom and Resounding Joy music program. Other supports include a sensory room and adapted playground equipment.
We are privileged to serve our students and look forward partnering with parents to prepare students for kindergarten and beyond.
